Life is Beautiful Festival in Vegas

As the summer term creeps up on us and our bank accounts flash up with glee at the discovery of our new student loan, where better to invest it than a holiday abroad? This autumn, from October 24-26, the Life is Beautiful Festival is coming to Las Vegas once again, making a fantastic getaway from the drab British weather during reading week.

    Not your average festival

Far from the muddy Wellington boots and questionable toilet facilities in our beloved British festivals, the Life is Beautiful Festival is a whole different kettle of fish. This year sees the second festival, following a hugely successful debut festival in 2013, attended by the likes of Empire of the Sun, Haim, Jurassic 5, Imagine Dragons and the Killers.

The festival attracted more than 30,000 people per day to the Nevada desert, and offered more than just music, with culinary delights from celebrity chefs and talks from inspirational speakers. There was also a heavy art influence, with an immersive art program displaying walls blanketed in murals and mini galleries in motel rooms.

    Something for everyone

Of course, once you’re all partied, fed and arted out, it could be easy to forget that beneath it all you will also be in the heart of Las Vegas – the City of Sin and home to some of the world’s most renowned hotels including the Bellagio, the Venetian and the MGM Grand. If you’re not quite 21 yet, you might want to work on your image – while being asked for ID is a rare occurrence, this can always be helped with a little snappy dressing.

This year’s line up of artists has not yet been officially launched, but one thing is guaranteed: the festival promises to be even bigger and better than its debut year in 2013. Founder Rehan Choudry said of this year’s event: “We’re ready to push the limits as much as possible. We have some incredible enhancements and news surprises coming for year two.”

So whether you’re a fresher who looks beyond his or her years or a postgraduate mature student, there’s no better way to blow your loan this October, so book your tickets and get ready to party with the stars now.
